- Peter commented on the three variants of version 06 of this model:

  • Issue was that in the stimulus protocol the 'stim_end' value was only 10 seconds.
  • This was changed to 1,000,000 seconds

Notes from Penny Noble on curation of this model:

"In this group we have used several models, including Noble98, to run some tests and it was noticed that the model never reached steady state. The reason for this was that INaCads had not been added to either of the calcium (Cai or Cads) ODEs. Logically and physiologically we would like to fix this issue by adding INaCads to dCads/dt. However this causes instability in the model. Hence in order to fix the problem of charge conservation, but to maintain the output of the model as similar as possible to the original and published Noble98, we have added INaCads to the dCai/dt equation.

Note that additional work has been done in our group, by Anna Sher in collaboration with Denis and Penny Noble, to look at INaCa in the dyadic space and at some stage we plan to produce an update of our guinea-pig ventricular cell model to incorporate this modelling work."

Penny Noble has sent a new version of this model (in 3 variants,) which will be uploaded onto the repository as versions 8, var1,2,3. (created variables to represent differential expressions to allow compatibility of this file with the old CCGS used in PCEnv 0.2 release.)
