2023 International CellML Workshop

The 16th International CellML Workshop was held on 6 June 2023 at the Waiheke Island Resort, Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand.

The annual International CellML Workshop is an opportunity for scientists to present and discuss ongoing work related to physiological modelling and simulation with particular focus on model and data exchange & reuse, archiving, and versioning and related software support. The workshop will be an in-person event, while following our usual practice of enabling remote participation via Zoom.

While the primary emphasis of this workshop is on CellML and related technologies, work from across the VPH & Physiome Project and computational systems biology communities are covered (SED-MLPhysiome RepositoryCOMBINE, reproducibility and model curation, etc.). In addition to participants from the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, the Medical Technologies Centre of Research Excellence, the Maurice Wilkins Centre, and the University of Auckland, previous workshops have attracted delegates from the UK, USA, Japan, Norway, France, Poland, Belgium, Italy, and Germany for both in-person and remote presentations.

This year the workshop will have a rapid fire lightning talk session as well as sessions featuring the following topics.

  • libCellML (website; GitHub).
  • Open science and publishing, Physiome journal.
  • Tools and best practices for:
    • model curation and annotation;
    • modularity and composition.
  • Reproducibility and online simulation.
