    Note that abstract titles should be less than 140 characters including spacing and the body text should be within 1300 characters including spacing.
    IUPS 2009 is in Kyoto, Japan, Mon 27th July - Sat 1st August.

Note that travel grants are also available to young investigators:

Eligibility:
Applicants must submit an abstract as a presenting author through our website, first. When you submit an abstract, be sure to check the box that you are willing to apply the Young Investigator Travel Grant.

In addition, applicants must:
1.    register for IUPS2009 through the website during early registration period (Sept. 1, 2008 - Apr. 17, 2009).
2.    be 45 years or under on Aug. 1st, 2009.
3.    be an undergraduate/pre-doctoral student, or postdoctoral fellow who is not currently enrolled in the tenure-tack program. Lecturers who do not have doctoral degree but are mainly involved in teaching, are also encouraged to apply.
4.    send a complete set of required materials (see below) to the Travel Grant Committee by the deadline.
You may apply travel grant with only one abstract.
Required Materials:
1.    a copy of the submitted abstract with the abstract submission number
2.    short curriculum vitae
3.    a copy of the passport, in which applicant’s photograph is included
4.    a letter of recommendation from a department head on official letterhead
A complete set of these materials should be sent by post to the Travel Grant Committee by the deadline (Dec. 10, 2008).
